Noe, the veteran party spokesman for the National Congress for Timorese Reconstruction (CNRT), has previously said he is interested in the position.
"The AMP leadership has agreed that Arao Noe will be the President of the National Parliament but more clearly we will hear it on the 12th, '' the source said on Thursday.
Francisco Branco, Chairman of the Fretilin, confirmed the party would not nominate anyone for the President of National Parliament position.
Timor-Leste’s eighth government will be inaugurated in National Parliament on June 13.
"We will not nominate a name from Fretilin to become President of the National Parliament because we want to be an opposition to oversee the government," he said.
