DILI:Timor-Leste reported no new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, for the first time since early last week.

The Integrated Crisis Management Centre (CIGC) said there remained 23 confirmed cases nationwide at the end of Wednesday, all of which were imported.

There were also 254 patients who had tested negative, with a further 80 people awaiting results, Dr Odete da Silva, spokesperson for CIGC said.

Dr Silva said 482 people remain in quarantine – 414 in Dili and 68 in sites across municipalities - a significant reduction from the more than 1,000 earlier in April.

Patients have now tested positive from six quarantine sites: the Lecidere Hotel, Hotel Katua’s, Fortuna Hotel, Timing Hotel, the Novo Horizonte Hotel, as well as the group of Portuguese teachers in Liquiça, authorities confirmed.
