DILI:Integrated Crisis Management Centre spokesperson Dr Rui Maria de Araujo says “strict monitoring” of teachers in Liquiça has found no local transmission of COVID-19 after two teachers from Portugal working in the area have tested positive for the virus.

On April 6, a Portuguese teacher who had returned to Lisbon from Liquiça tested positive for the virus. A second teacher, who had been kept in isolation as a “suspected” case, was confirmed positive on Tuesday.

Health authorities have been testing people living in Liquiça believed to have been in contact with the teachers. As of Wednesday, all test results have returned negative.
