DILI: Timor-Leste’s flagship airline Aero Dili on Saturday launched its second international direct route from Dili ahead of increasing demand for travel services in and out of the country.

The direct flight takes three hours of travel time and will take off from its home at Dili once a week on Mondays, according to the airlines schedule. A return service from Singapore Changi airport will depart the same day.

Aero Dili is the only operator servicing the Dili to Singapore route, according to Flightradar24.

Last year, Aero Dili opened a direct daily service to and from Bali Denpasar Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS).

Aero Dili, owned by Aero Dili Transport Services S.A, successfully received its own airbus A320 aircraft in March 2023.

Timor-Leste’s President of the Republic Jose Ramos Horta, Minister of Foreign Affair Bendito Freitas, The Ambassador or Timor-Leste in Singapore Mariano Asanami Sabino and President of Aero Dili Laurenco Oliveira were among the dignitaries who attended Saturday’s launch ceremony for Aero Dili’s new route.
