Xanana Flies to Europe to Represent President Horta at Global Meetings Featured

DILI: Timor-Leste officials have confirmed details of National Congress for Timorese Reconstruction leader Xanana Gusmao’s trip to Europe as President of the Republic Jose Ramos-Horta’s representative at global meetings in Brussels, Lisbon, and London.

Officials confirmed Xanana will attend the 2022 edition of the European Development Days conference in Brussels between 21 – 22 June.

The former Prime Minister will also visit Lisbon, Portugal to represent Timor-Leste at the UN Ocean Conference June 27 to 1 July.

Xanana’s trip will end in London where he’ll lead negotiations on behalf of Timor-Leste at the 2022 maritime boundary strategic meeting.
